ESSENTIAL MOVEMENT PRACTICE
Learning to cultivate a way of life through dance that is Open...Flowing...Empty... Loose...& Natural.
Moving Expressions are portraits of the essence of this practice. Be your own dance therapist by being...
Open to life and saying "yes to life" and what it is bringing to us on our journey. Open in our dance keeping the body free and easy. Flowing with life and not resisting life and letting everything move and express its self through our bodies. At the same time Empty of thoughts, desires and control. Empty in our dance is to let the dance become the creator of our movements while the mind is empty, free, unattached and open. Simply observing the gaps between changes in our movements. As in meditation we watch the gaps in our thoughts and feel the space knowing that the space between them is the real essence of our nature. Watching as one movement changes into another. We remain loose and relaxed with no pressure and above all natural. In life we are natural when we are free from conditioning and our box of confined and defined ideas and thinking. Natural in our very nature as we let go of any goals to achieve or to obtain and allow our dance to become our awareness therapy.

Moving with our fullest expression in this very moment to reflect our minds, body and spirt is the essence of my practice. This collection of pictures I hope attempts to capture the essence of Moving Expressions that are so beautifully shown here by different dancers. The collection is not complete and it never can be but there are many pictures presented that show lots of fun and furious engagement from dancers who have held nothing back. Authentic expression is where we let go of our protection and move into the realms of our essence. I am inspired by the work of Krish and and Amana Trobe of the Learning Love Institute. Their work " is a highly specific, gentle but effective approach to recovering from our wounded state of being and re-discovering our true nature". This may require some courage but the results will be rewarding and bring about deep transformations. In my workshops and classes there is a safe and loving space to let the exploration and fullest expression of your dance reveal its self.
If you are interested in learning to move and express from a deeper place within then contact me for details on private sessions.
A big thank you to all the participants of "Wild Child" a primal therapy workshop where these photographs were taken by Elisa Heimo in Finland.
